Promotion of Industry Careers

Our Career Awareness Program focuses on sharing career information with traditional and under-represented groups across the country via interactive workshops, exhibitions at careers fairs and events, and by distributing promotional information.

The Petroleum HR Council long recognized the need for the petroleum industry to diversify its labour force to meet the growing need for skilled employees. The 2003 study, The Decade Ahead, uncovered troubling information gaps between employers and potential employees that were impeding the industry's ability to attract and retain a diverse pool of talent.

The 2003 Petroleum HR Council study, The Decade Ahead, identified that the composition and competency requirements of jobs within the upstream petroleum industry have and will continue to evolve in response to changing technology, as well as the business and regulatory environment.
