Saskatchewan Work-force Development
About
This study was commissioned and funded by Saskatchewan Advanced
Education and Employment and the Government of Canada's Sector
Council Program.
The Petroleum HR Council was engaged to manage the project and
the firm of Saskatoon Aboriginal Business Associates Ltd. was
contracted to provide the required research and analysis and to
author the study report. Fast Consulting, a Saskatchewan based firm
conducted the Key Informant industry interviews.
A multi-party Steering Committee comprised of representatives
from the governments of Saskatchewan and Canada, the upstream
petroleum industry Petroleum HR Council member organizations,
Saskatchewan post-secondary training colleges, institutions, and
Universities and the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade
Certification Commission provided overall direction to the project
managers and consultants.
Project Results
Completed in 2007, this project conducted a study to provide a
basis for a workforce development plan for the upstream oil and gas
industry within the Province of Saskatchewan. The results are
detailed in a full research report entitled Saskatchewan Upstream
Oil & Gas Workforce Development Report.
