ITT: Products & Services
Background
One of the most pressing needs for the upstream petroleum
industry is establishing a skilled and sustainable labour force.
Attraction, retention and workforce development are key challenges,
especially for small and medium-sized employers in the petroleum
industry.
That's why in April 2009, the Petroleum HR Council launched the
Increasing the Talent Toolkit, an
innovative online resource to help companies and communities
understand and address attraction, retention and workforce
development challenges, particularly in hard-to-recruit
locations.
Now the Council is looking to take the program one step further
by refining the existing toolkit and looking at new services and
products to help employers attract, retain and develop a skilled
workforce.
About ITT: Products & Services
The main objective of the ITT: Products & Services project
is to explore the option of offering new Increasing the Talent
products and services, such as workshops, to the petroleum
industry.
Next Steps
The first step of the ITT: Products & Services project will
be a feasibility study and the development of a marketing strategy
that will provide a framework for new and updated workforce
development services.
Expected Results
The ITT: Products & Services project will help create a more
sustainable workforce that is better aligned to the needs of
employers in the upstream petroleum industry.
Along with exploring new Increasing the Talent products and
services, the project will create a business and sustainability
plan to ensure the Petroleum HR Council has the resources and
capacity to provide workforce development products, tools and
services to the upstream petroleum industry.
The project will also update and revise the current Increasing
the Talent Toolkit and will create collaborative partnerships
among the Sector Councils, industry, education and other
organizations to effectively address attraction, retention and
workforce development issues faced by the upstream petroleum
industry.
