In today's labour market, casting a broad net to recruit workers to your company is important. This is called "sourcing" and refers to activities that identify solid applicants for your job vacancies. Like many companies, you are probably finding that traditional sourcing methods like word of mouth or ads in the local paper aren't as effective as they used to be.

 

• Recruitment Activities Checklist (PDF): Use this checklist to identify new recruitment ideas for your company.

 

• Ask supervisors and/or existing employees to help you identify three new recruitment or sourcing activities to implement over the next four months.
• Develop a recruitment package for each position you are recruiting for. The package should include:
